Help us double lung cancer survival! By participating and choosing to fundraise, you’re helping us raise awareness and fund vital research programs dedicated to doubling lung cancer survival by 2022.

Event Schedule
8:00 a.m. - Registration & check-in
9:15 a.m. - Pre-race rally, warm-up & recognition of top fundraisers 
9:30 a.m. - Balloon release & memorial walk (.75 miles)
9:40 a.m. - 5K run begins
9:45 a.m. - 5K walk begins
11:00 a.m. - Closing comments

Untimed Event
Participants in the 5K run/walk will not be timed. The course is approximately five kilometers, but it has not officially been measured.

T-Shirts
All online and mail-in registrants who participate are guaranteed an event T-shirt. A limited quantity of T-shirts will be available for those registering on event day.

Help build the movement! Form a Free to Breathe team and ask friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers to join you. When you register, you'll get access to our online fundraising tools that make fundraising easy, convenient and FUN! Plus - the more you raise, the more you are rewarded!

The top three individual fundraisers and top three fundraising teams (based on totals as of 4 p.m. on Oct. 16) will be acknowledged on event day. Fundraising will remain open through Nov. 26.

Course Description
The route begins at Miller’s Landing, which is a passive park nestled next to the Missouri River and the dock for the Omaha River City Star riverboat facility. It runs along the Missouri River and passes by Gallup’s World University Headquarters, the National Park Service Midwestern headquarters, Rick’s Boatyard Café, the Riverfront Condos, and the Omaha Qwest Center and Arena. It then loops back to Miller’s Landing.

Driving Directions/Map

From West Omaha

  • Take I-80 East to 480 North (downtown)
  • Take I-480 North to 75 North Freeway (Creighton University exit)
  • Take 75 North to Cuming St. exit (1st exit on right)
  • Take Cuming St. (East) past Convention Center and up and over viaduct to 2nd stop light
  • Turn right on Gallup Dr.
  • Take 1st left on Freedom Park Rd.
  • The 1st right turn is Miller's Landing parking lot

From North Omaha

  • Take I-680 to 30th St. exit and follow the signs for Eppley Airfield
  • Pass Eppley Airfield on Abbott Dr. heading towards downtown Omaha
  • Make a left turn on Gallup Dr.
  • Take 1st left - Freedom Park Rd.
  • The 1st right turn is Miller's Landing parking lot

From Downtown Omaha

  • Head North on 10th St.
  • Take right on Cuming St.
  • Take Cuming St. (East) past Qwest Center and up and over viaduct to 2nd stop light
  • Turn right on Gallup Dr.
  • Take 1st left on Freedom Park Rd.
  • The 1st right turn is Miller's Landing parking lot

From Des Moines, Iowa

  • Take I-80 West to I-29 North 
  • Take I-29 North, go over the bridge and stay in the right hand lane and follow the signs and take the Carter Lake and 10th St. exit 
  • Turn right on 10th St. and pass the Qwest Center Convention Center
  • Take 10th St. to Abbott Dr. and turn right
  • Go up and over the viaduct and turn right onto Gallup Dr.
  • Take the 1st left on Freedom Park Rd.
  • The 1st right turn is Miller's Landing parking lot
