Please join us for the 2nd Annual
Free to Breathe® 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Memorial Walk in Southwest Florida! The event provides an opportunity for lung cancer advocates, survivors and the community to come together to raise awareness and support to fight this disease. All proceeds from this event will benefit the National Lung Cancer Partnership’s research, education and awareness programs.

6:00 - 8:00 a.m. - Event Day Registration (Complimentary Continental Breakfast Available)
8:00 a.m. - Warm-up

8:15 a.m. - 5K Run/Walk
8:30 a.m. - Mile of Memories Walk
9:30 a.m. - Rally and Awards

T-shirts are guaranteed to all pre-registered participants. A limited number of t-shirts and goody bags will be available on event day while quantities last.

Course Description:

The race will begin in front of the Charlotte Sports Park Stadium and follow a scenic route around the park and on roads through undeveloped areas of Charlotte County. The race will end inside Charlotte Sports Park.

If you plan to pick up your packet in advance, please indicate when you register which location you would prefer so we can make sure your materials are available at at the correct location. Event registration WILL NOT be available at advance packet pick-up locations.  

Fundraising Information:
Each individual who raises $1,500 or more for the National Lung Cancer Partnership will receive a fundraising incentive. Set up an online fundraising page and download pledge and donation forms here.

Awards:
Medals will be presented to all lung cancer survivors and to the top three male and female finishers in the following age divisions: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.

Trophies will be presented to the following top male and female finishers in the following categories:
Overall (Fastest race time)
Masters (Fastest race time over age 40)
Grand Masters (Fastest race time over age 50)
Senior Grand Masters (Fastest race time over age 60)
Veterans (Fastest race time over age 70)

Directions/Parking Information:
From the North:
1. Take I75 South
2. Exit 179 and turn right onto North Toledo Blade Blvd
3. Follow Toledo Blade Blvd for approx 6 miles to SR 776
4. Turn Right onto SR-776 West (El Jobean)
5. Charlotte Sports Park is about 2 miles on the left

From the South:
1. Take I75 North
2. Exit 179 and turn left onto Toledo Blade Blvd
3. Follow Toledo Blade Blvd for approx 6 miles to SR 776
4. Turn Right onto SR-776 West (El Jobean)
5. Charlotte Sports Park is about 2 miles on the left

Free Parking is available at the Charlotte Sports Park.
