Free to Breathe® Raleigh
Lung Cancer 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk & Rally

We hope you will join us for the 6th Annual Free to Breathe Raleigh Lung Cancer 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk & Rally! This event
provides an opportunity for lung cancer advocates, survivors and the
community to come together to raise awareness and support in the
movement to defeat lung cancer. All
proceeds will benefit the North Carolina Lung Cancer Partnership’s research,
education and awareness programs.

Event Schedule
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Registration & check-in
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Rally with speakers, music, food & entertainment
8:00 - 8:30 a.m. - Survivor breakfast at Survivors' Tent
8:45 - 9:00 a.m. - Survivor ceremony on stage
9:00 a.m. - 1-mile run/walk (lead by survivors)
9:30 a.m. - 5K run/walk
Following the 5K there will be awards, food, kid's entertainment, courtesy of Games 2 U Mobile Entertainment, and an expo area.

Children ages 6 and younger are free, but must register for the 5K or 1-mile in order to receive a T-shirt.
T-Shirts
All online and mail-in registrants are guaranteed an event T-shirt. A limited quantity of T-shirts will be available for those registering on event day.
Survivor Registration
Registration is FREE for all lung
cancer survivors when pre-registered. A registration form and signed
waiver are required. Shirts can be picked up upon check-in at the
survivors' tent.
Course Description
The races will start and finish at North Hills and will wind through the neighborhood behind the plaza. The 5K course is certified by USA Track & Field.
Race Awards
Awards will be presented to the top
three overall male and female finishers of the 5K and the top three
overall male and female finishers in the following age divisions: 12
& under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,
55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+. Registration as a competitive participant
required for eligibility.

The top individual
fundraisers and top fundraising teams will be acknowledged on event day. Fundraising will remain open through Dec. 31.
Expo
An event expo will begin at 8 a.m. and will include sponsor tents, activities & goodies, educational exhibits, food, music and more!

Second Empire Grand Prix Race Series
This 5K is part of the Annual Grand Prix Race Series. The race is the ## race in the 12th Annual Second Empire Grand Prix, a series of nine races in which runners earn points towards awards given at the end of the Grand Prix at the end of 2012. Visit the Grand Prix web site for more information.
