• All of the above!

Fundraising for Race for Breath benefitting Free to Breathe is my opportunity to make the world a better place. And it’s your opportunity to help restore hope to those faced with a lung cancer diagnosis.

I have a personal reason for supporting this fundraiser. My mother passed away from lung cancer in 2006 after 3 years of fighting. Just before she died she found out about Race for Breath and asked my sister and I to join her. Okay, really she told us. She said this was important to her and she needed us there. So we borrowed a wheel chair and headed to the beach before sunrise. We got checked in and looked around a little. My mom just kept looking around and taking it all in. We walked her the 5K and let me tell you, she didn't stop smiling all day. She said "I don't feel so alone anymore. Everyone talks about all other cancers but no one talks about lung cancer. I finally feel like they understand." It truly broke my heart. She passed away 5 months later. My sister and I have tried to walk this 5K every year since then. I missed 1 year and it just didn't feel right.

Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. Please share this page with your friends and family. Together, we can make a difference for each and every person whose life has been touched by lung cancer. Together, we can all be Free to Breathe.
